Asheville Women’s Medical Center is a progressive and comprehensive Ob/Gyn office that has set the standard for women’s care in Western North Carolina since it was formed in 1976. Over the last four decades, the physicians and staff at Asheville Women’s have worked tirelessly to bring you the latest technologic and medical advances while treating you with kindness and compassion. We have been pioneers at bringing advanced laparoscopic surgeries to Mission Hospital that can decrease hospital stays and minimize pain. Additionally we have a robust in-office surgical program and we were the first gynecology group in Asheville to offer in office sterilization, endometrial ablations, hysteroscopy and D&C procedures. Finally, our diagnostic imaging center brings you the latest in 3-D mammography, 4-D ultrasound, and bone density screening all in the comfort and convenience of our downtown Asheville location.
Special People for Special Care
RN triage is an important role in our facility. We have an RN (Registered Nurse) on staff who is here to help assist and answer any questions or concerns. Our RN is very knowledgeable about OBGYN. She is available during office hours to help answer questions or concerns for our patients. The other tasks she assists our patients with include scheduling same day appointments, assisting with prescriptions, refills and medication management, giving instructions for scheduled procedures, and managing the process for patients requiring outside referral.
Gestational Diabetes Care Coordinator
Our Gestational Diabetes Care Coordinator is an RN/Nurse Practitioner that provides teaching, coordinating with high risk care, dietary teaching, glucose management including regulation and modification of medication regimes for all of our patients with gestational diabetes.
Postpartum Health Coach
Our Postpartum Health Coach works with all of our postpartum patients to assess their physical and emotional needs, arranges follow up care and keeps the patient’s primary OB care provider informed.
