You are not usually required to have a referral authorization for obstetrical, gynecological and breast care for most commercial managed care companies.

Exceptions:
Blue Cross - PCP PLAN — You will need an authorization for infertility services.
Medicaid - Carolina Access — You will need an authorization for any service provided by Asheville Women's Medical Center.

If we are referring you to another doctor for additional care, your particular plan may require a special authorization. Please check with your booklet or call your health insurance company.
