PLEASE NOTE:

Currently Mission Hospital is in contract negotiations with BCBS of NC.  This DOES NOT affect Asheville Women’s Medical Center’s BCBS participation.  We are a private practice independent of Mission Hospitals.

At the present, they’ve been unable to come to a mutual understanding.  We anticipate that this will be resolved before their contract is up in October, 2017.

These two parties have been at this juncture before and we anticipate a resolution, just as we have had in the past.

In the rare event that there is not a settlement reached, there are provisions for Obstetrical patients that will be in their 2nd or 3rd trimester at the October 4th deadline, that may extend your in-network benefits.  The length of the transitional period depends on the specific health plan.  Patients should call the phone number on the back of their BCBS NC insurance card to find out if they are eligible and apply.
