Dr. Stephen Hill joined Asheville Women's Medical Center in 1988,
combining an active practice in Waynesville with the Asheville
practice. He brings tremendous energy and technical skill to the
group. His practice is limited to gynecology with a special interest
and experience in laparoscopic surgery and urogynecology. He is a
member of the American Society of Gynecologic Laparoscopists and the
American Urogynecologic Society. Dr. Hill maintains clinical offices
at our Haywood facility and at the main office in Asheville. He is the

Training
Dr. Hill received his medical degree from West Virginia
University in Morgantown, West Virginia. His training in Obstetrics
and Gynecology was at The Akron City Hospital in Akron, Ohio, where he
also served as chief resident. Dr. Hill has been engaged in the
medical community as department chair, vice chief of staff and
credentials chair for the hospital system. He has been elected to the
Chief of Staff position for Mission Hospitals for 2007 and 2008. He
is currently a clinical assistant professor of Obstetrics and
Gynecology at UNC-Chapel Hill and is involved in the clinical teaching
of physician residents here in Asheville. Dr. Hill is a fellow of the
American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and is board
certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
